Kemi is an original character based in Final Fantasy XIV. He explores dark, horror-based themes that may be inappropriate for some. Some of his lore deals with story-based spoilers for the Endwalker expansion.

THE PLAYER
Hi I'm Mason! I write stuff here! I love alligators, the Hellraiser franchise, and making silly plush toys. All of my characters have Frankenstein (the monster, not the guy) on their inspo boards.I like to write horror and horrific sci-fi while I play with my silly little barbies, and the story lines and plots I'm most interested tend to swim in those same proverbial ponds. For those reasons, I ask you to observe a few general rules when it comes to me and my characters!
KEMI-SPECIFIC RULES
Kemi can't be "fixed" or "saved." The purpose of the character isn't to write that type of story. If your character wants to ICly try this for whatever reason, please feel free but let's agree on the consequences!
Romance isn't an option, but intimate connections are more than welcome assuming your character can withstand, curtail, or otherwise survive Kemi's incredibly specific brand of intimacy.
Kemi deals with a lot of boundary pushing and abject horror by nature and as such it is extremely important to me to discuss major character moments OOC! He is meant to be invasive and creepy in fiction and in fiction only.
Kemi obviously plays very fast and loose with canon FFXIV lore, but it's still rooted in and connected to it on a fundamental level. He doesn't work well with characters that fully or completely "break" canon immersion! If this is a concern, let's chat before any plot stuff comes up!
GENERAL RULES
I will not RP with any players under the age of 21!
I totally understand that spontaneity and improvising are core to roleplaying and I love doing it! But that said, I really value having a consistent stream of communication OOC for any major plot moments, even if it's just periodical check-ins!
I have 0 tolerance for blurring the lines between in character and out of character interactions, opinions, or traits. Please don't get weird about the freak shit my character does. He is pretend. He can't hurt anyone.
Kemi's themes are dark, horror-centric and not appropriate for everyone! If I'm uncomfortable with an interaction, I will respectfully disengage and ask anyone uncomfortable interacting with Kemi to do the same for themselves!
I won't RP with writers or artists who use AI tools to create or enhance their characters or their posts. It's gotta be all human-created content for me!

Sometimes, things wash up where they don't belong.He's big for a Miqo'te, and asks a lot of questions. It's charming at first, but something feels off. Why is he standing so close? Why does he want to know so much about you? Why does he greet you like an old friend despite having just met you?Even worse, he doesn't seem to want anything from you. At least, not yet.

DOMINANT HAND Ambidextrous SCARS Just one, over his eye. He seems to tell a different story about where it came from every time he's asked. It's almost like he doesn't know.
NOTABLE FEATURES (PHYSICAL) Kemi's large for a Miqo'te, with tiger-like markings, small ears, and a thick tail. His skin is smooth and apparently unblemished, which is a little odd for someone who touts himself as an adventurer and explorer. His eyes catch the light. NOTABLE FEATURES (OTHER) Sometimes, in the right light, or under the right degree of scrutiny, Kemi might look...off. A mouth with too many teeth, a hand with too many fingers, eyes in the wrong quadrants of his face. It's gone as soon as you notice it though, and probably nothing to worry about. NO SUFFERING WASTED
Kemi is a zealot of the highest order, but his religion is of his own invention. He is a thing that existed without a real body for a very, very long time and now has one. This is a gift. This is a miracle. He believes the human body is a holy space, capable of amazing things thanks to its nerves and organs. He preaches this gospel wherever he goes.
I SING THE BODY
It's easy to conflate Kemi's interests with simple sadism or extreme masochism and, while that's not technically incorrect, it is reductive in a way he doesn't understand or appreciate. The body is a marvel and must be pushed to the extreme, and beyond, to be fully appreciated. Death has never been, and never will be, the point.
ALWAYS ASKING
Kemi is chatty, but any conversation with him will quickly devolve into probing questions - many of which may not be the most socially acceptable. Keeping him interested enough to keep going is a double edged sword. Be careful.
A FRIENDLY FACE
The smile is authentic, and so is the cheery attitude. Kemi is a lot of things, but deceptive isn't one of them. He values honesty and authenticity, even in himself - the trick is understanding exactly what's being said and why. It's probably not a lie, just a miscommunication.
SOMEWHERE BEYOND
Kemi traces his origins back to the world beyond the stars, outside the typical Eorzean understanding of time, space, and energy. Characters with backgrounds in theoretical sciences or technology that probes the furthest depths of the universe might find something familiar in him.
MIMIC
One of Kemi's favorite hobbies in any interaction is mirroring. He has learned to be human through observation and acting, picking up traits and putting on performances. This effect can either be deeply endearing or deeply off-putting, depending on the context. Or both, if you're unlucky enough.
RP HOOKS
TELL ME EVERYTHING [STANDARD] You know what they say about curiosity and cats. Kemi is thrilled to get to know anyone and everyone, no matter how prickly or difficult to talk to they might be. If your character is in need of a conversation partner, Kemi will gladly lend an ear. And a hand. And maybe a bit more. It's probably fine.
SCAR TISSUE [STANDARD] Among Kemi's many extremely specific interests are scars and old wounds. He is obsessed with "decorating" the body and is thrilled to hear stories about where they came from or why they happened. Bonus points if your character can recount in detail what it felt like. If your character is looking for a reason to do some exposition about a notable feature, Kemi can gladly offer up his conversational services.

SCIENTIFIC CURIOSITY [UNCOMMON] Any character with an interest or passing familiarity with the world beyond the star - perhaps those involved with Sharlyan or Garlean scientific disciplines or exploration into space, might note some things about Kemi after an interaction or two. Those with an understanding of things like the creatures found on Ultima Thule and the principals of dynamis might take an even stronger interest.
A QUESTION OF FAITH [UNCOMMON] Characters with strong spiritual or religious opinions might find themselves, willingly or unwillingly, roped into very philosophical conversations with Kemi about the nature of faith and the consideration of "holy" things. These conversations aren't meant to be antagonistic, nor are they meant to be debates, but it becomes very obvious very quickly that Kemi's views on the subject differ from the typical standards of devotion or atheism.

SUCH SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU [RARE] Kemi works well with any characters interested in dealing with extremes. This can mean a lot of things to different people and Kemi is deeply invested in being on both the receiving and giving end of any exploration into the inner workings of the human body. This, however, is obviously a dangerous pursuit no matter who is doing what to whom and is best suited for characters who are capable of withstanding a tremendous amount of physical punishment. That, or they work out some sort of loophole in Kemi's extremely zealous logic, which is difficult but not impossible!
DOCTOR, DOCTOR [RARE] If, by chance, your character is fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to come in close contact with Kemi's "blood," they might start to realize some things about it's strange, more or less psychedelic effects. These can change in both presentation and severity from character to character -- the results could be supremely horrifying, supremely euphoric, or something else entirely. Characters with substance abuse issues, chronic pain, or high sensitivity to drugs, might find this particularly intense -- for better or worse.
